Prof. Abdullahi Mustapha |
We are aware of the difficulties you face during the course of your studies on campus. We shall however, do even better than what we offered in 2011/2012 session to make you more comfortable within the resources at our disposal. Therefore, make judicious use of the facilities provided for you.
One of our strategies for easing the stress on students due to shortage of on-campus accommodation is through partnership with private hostel developers to build more hostels on campus on Build-Operate-and Transfer (BOT) basis. This effort is yielding positive preliminary results and soon construction of new hostels by these private companies will commence.
In the same vein, we are striving to upgrade the existing Hostel facilities to higher standards. We are continuing with the Hostel renovation programme. Having completed that of Suleiman Hall last session, we are extending our efforts, this time to Ribadu and Alexandra Halls. We are aware of the difficulties the renovation exercise will bring to especially our female students by reducing their access to on-campus accommodation. This is highly regretted. We urged the concerned students to bear with us as this temporary inconvenience will not be allowed to last longer than necessary.
The enduring contribution of all staff of the University is equally appreciated. As we face the new session, no less effort is demanded from you to facilitate stress-free teaching and learning for our students.
Let us join hands together and continue to place ABU ahead of all others.
THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS
Professor Abdullahi Mustapha FPSN
