Adegoke Emerges As Best Overall Student In FUTA

"Some genius are born and others are trained"

This is the story of a 26 years old man whose Father is said to be a plumber and has graduated as the best overall graduating student of the 24th convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Technology, Akure. He goes by the name, Mr. Nurudeen Adegoke.

Adegoke has applauded and appreciated for his efforts in his studies. He studied Mathematics and won alot of awards and handshakes.

He himself told the punch newspaper's correspondent that the road to his success was rough and challenging as he had to put in personal efforts to get himself through his degree programme at FUTA.

According to him, he said that he had really worked very hard. No unserious student can survive the rigour at the Mathematical Science department from where he graduated. He also said that prayer also help him.

The mixture of determination, focus and diligence has propelled him to the high he is today. He also said that I was humble type of person  because one needs humility is very essential in anything one is doing.

He was at the Osun State College of Technology, Esa Oke, for my Ordinary National Diploma in Statistics. He then got direct admission to FUTA after doing everything on his own.

All candidates who made the Federal University of Technology, Akure their first or/and second choice(s) and obtained a minimum score of 200 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in March, 2012 are invited for computer-based screening exercise in the University from Wednesday, 6th June to Saturday, 9th June, 2012.

Similarly, candidates who made FUTA their first or/and second choice(s) for the Direct Entry Admission for the 2012/2013 academic session are also invited for a computer-based Pre-Admission screening exercise on Saturday, 9th June, 2012.





Registration starts as from the  24th of May, 2012 and  will ends at 12.00 midnight on Monday, 4th June, 2012.


How To Register

As a candidaate, you are to  pay a sum of  N2,000. Please note that bank charges may be included at any of the commercial Bank nation-wide by using the e-transact platform. Please note that the CANDIDATE’S UTME/DE Registration number and the full name should be correctly provided at the point of payment.



Once you are through with the payment process, then proceed to the schol portal and start your registration on www.futa.edu.ng. Upon sumbmission of the onlibne form, you will be given the details of your examination date and time.



Things to bring to the venue of your post utme.

1. Depositor’s copy of bank teller indicating payment of TWO THOUSAND NAIRA (N2, 000.00) for Registration

2. Print out of e-transact receipt (collected from the bank)

3. Completed Registration Form (downloaded from the FUTA website)

4. JAMB UTME Notification of Results/JAMB slips for Direct Entry candidates.

The Venue of the Screening exercise is the Electronic Test Centre, (ETC) "Obakekere Campus" Federal University of Technology, Akure.


Candidates are NOT allowed to bring cell phones or electronic gadget(s) into the examination hall.

Any UTME/DE candidate who fails to present himself/herself for the computer-based screening exercise will NOT be considered for admission.

appointed a new vice chancellor. He goes by the name, Professor
Adebiyi Daramola.

He is FUTA 6th substantive Vice-
Chancellor.


He had made a lot of achievements and accolades. Please note that the appointment of the new vice chancellor takes
immediate effect. To God be all the glory.

2012 FUTA POST UTME ADMISSION DETAILS

These are some of the things you are to know about Federal University of Technology Akure admission processes.

Admissions

(a) Candidates seeking admission to the University for first-degree courses must obtain and complete the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms and take the examination.

(b) For admission to all courses, candidates must satisfy the admission requirements of the University. For
some courses; additional School/Departmental requirements have to be satisfied.

(c) New Admissions will normally be made only in September/October every year.

(d) At the time of registration at this University, each candidate will be required to present the originals of
the certificates or any other acceptable evidence of thequalifications on the basis of which the offer of admission has been made.

(e) If it is discovered at any time that a candidate does not possess any of the qualifications which he/she claims to have obtained, he/she will be expelled from the University.

(f) Students shall, on admission pay to the University, all the fees prescribed by regulations.

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL

THE SCHOOLS

All courses are of five years duration except for Architecture, which is for six years.

Admission to all courses is mainly through the U. M. E.

1. Entry Requirements:

i. 5 ‘O’ level credit passes at not more than two sittings preferably including English Language.

All About 2012 FUTA First Annual Conference On School Of Sciences

The theme of this conference is Science and Technology in an Evolving Economy.
Participants and delegates are expected to arrive at the conference venue and commence registration from 12 noon on Tuesday 17th July 2012. The opening ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday 18th July at 9.00am, followed by Plenary session at 10.30pm and excursion to Idanre hills at 3.00pm same day. Technical sessions will hold on Thursday 19th July at 9.00am at different venues to be announced. Friday 20th July is slated for departure.

Call for Papers

Abstracts of original scientific research or excellent review articles (if not more than 200 words, type-written using MS Word, double spaced, 12pt font size in Times New Roman, on one side of A4 paper with 2.5cm margines on all sides) should be sent to the following addresses not later than 17th June 2012:

The title of the manuscripts should be in upper case, centre aligned and followed by the name(s) of the authors (corresponding author or presenter at the conference should be asterisked) and their postal addresses and e-mail.


The papers should encompass the general theme and sub-themes focusing on recent trends in research and development in various fields of science.
Good quality papers will be peer-reviewed and accepted papers will be published in a special edition of the schools journal. Therefore, participants should come along with an electronic copy of the full paper and three hard copies.

2012 Federal University of Technology -FUTA- Resumption Date Announced

This is to inform the general public and all the students of FUTA Akure that the internal 1 week strike conducted by staff of the Federal University of Technology, Akure has been called off.


We got to know that it has been called off by the Federal Government precisely on Tuesday. This is due to the cash backing mapped out for the nation's universities had not yet been given to universities for payment of the Non Salary Allowances.

A week ago, the staffs of the school requested for the payment of the hazard allowance, but to all their efforts to get the payments seems to prove abortive.

You are hereby notified by this  publication that all students and staffs are to resume for the  commencement of the first semester.
