Reps Sets To Probe Student Failure In Examinations

The house of reps. have sets to probe the massive failure of students in the 2011 examinations. It is not yet known of the cause  but  the truth will soon surface. According to the Nations newspaper,

Alagbaso said: “This mass failure is becoming so embarrassing that a review and realignment of the curricula is required.”
House Committee Chairman on Education, Farouk Lawan, said the education sector needs urgent overhaul to ensure improved quality.

Some of the lawmakers said that the teachers are either not well motivated to properly carry out their job or they (the teachers) are not well trained to teach the student because same curricula have been used the other countries and there are reports of success. So, soon the probing will start. Let's relax and see the outcome of it.God Bless Nigeria.

Aspirant Promises Agege Residents Better Service BY Sunday Akintoye

A chairmanship aspirant on the platform of Africa Liberation Party (ALP) in the coming local government election in Lagos State, Tunde Ogunnoiki, has promised better welfare package for Agege residents if elected into office.
In a chat with LG Circuit, he said he has what it takes to turn Agege around, noting that the present administration led by Jubril Abdulkareem has failed in the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people of the area.
“I have been in Agege for many years. Our people have been neglected by the present government. I am coming out not because of my popularity, but I want to serve my people and give them quality services,” he said.
Ogunnoiki, who contested the Agege Constituency I seat in the Lagos House of Assembly in the April, 2011 elections, disclosed that his first primary assignment, if elected, is to empower the youths by providing thousands of jobs within the local government.
He said youths are engaged in nefarious activities in Agege because the present administration has failed to empower them, adding that his administration will focus on widows and aged people, while it will also make sure that all the bad roads within the council area are repaired.
“Youths today are leaders of tomorrow. We don’t need to give them money every day like some council bosses do in Lagos. I will make sure that I organise a monthly workshop for them, where those who have vocations will be given stipends to set up their own businesses, while we are going to assist those who want to go to school among them by buying GCE and JAMB forms for them so as to further their education,” he said.
Popularly known as Gambla, the aspirant said he will use the 70 per cent of the council’s fund to renovate some public schools, construct roads and drainage systems and award scholarship to the brilliant students, while soft loans will be given to residents who want to do business but have no money.
Ogunnoiki, however, noted that he can only realise his objectives if the people of Agege vote for him in the forthcoming council poll.
