If you have been watching your televisions and other media, you will notice a particular program called THE MEDIA TALK with the President. The President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan (which we all know is my father's uncle's sister's aunt's mummy's brother ) said some touching words concerning the renaming of the long standing university in the west - University of Lagos(UNILAG).
My "presido" said that the renaming of any institution has nothing to do with sending or requiring of approval by the institution.
That's make all the issue of road blocking and protesting clear. But all I have been hearing from the school and her alumni is that the University of Lagos (Unilag) has dragged the the FG to court because of the remaining of the school to Moshood Abiola University, Lagos (Maulag).
Well, the current news that came up last night concerning the issue is that the Federal High Court has halted the Federal Government from renaming the University. The court also restrained the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from deliberating on the proposed bill of renaming the institution.
This means that UNILAG will remain UNILAG until the court issue and suit has been resolved. The Justice of the Federal High Court , Justice Adah has asked the litigants to harmonize the suits. Until July 4, 2012 that the Justice Adah had adjourned the case for further hearing.
