31 UNABUJA Students Have Multiple Carryovers

After the riot and other incidents that have come and gone in the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), the Presidential (Special) Visitation Panel went to UNIABUJA . And in their reports, they said that nothing less than 31 students that are the 2003/2004 session graduates had multiple carryovers. Also in their report, it was noted that UNIABUJA does not have the academic culture in the management of the affairs of the institution from the very start.

According to what the panel said, they said this shows that there has been high degree of carelessness, incompetence, and insensitivity.’’

* The UNIIABUJA also lack examination and student record office/unit (s) at the university, and management’s/vice chancellor’s reluctance to deal/dispense with proven cases of examination misconduct. Alot of things were reported expecially about the 2003/2004 acadmic session.

* About N98m was expended on ICT from 1999 to date out of which N18. 52m was expended on networking at the Mini Campus aside from the many special grants received from agencies like TETFUND and the National Communications Commission.

* Despite the various huge investments, there is no functional e-library on the campuses of the university in a Federal Capital Territory.

In the comment section of Online Punchng, one Mr Adekilekun commented a striking one on the December 18, 2012. He said "he is a victim of UNIABUJA administrative syndrome. As a PG student, you write exams and wont see results forever. Imagine a department putting all PG program on hold because someone went for sabbatical. Is that not peak of indolence. Yet to see results of exams written May/June 2011. In fact, nothing works in UNIABUJA."

May God Help Us In Nigeria.
