UNICAL Lecturer Shot and Gateman Killed By Gunmen

Though it is no longer news but we will tell you in details what really happened in the University of Calabar, Calabar. Few days ago, some unknown gunmen visited the institution and shot Mr. Felix Akpan who was the Head of Department of Public Administration precisely at a relaxation joint.


When the men of the underworld had carried out the attack, the 70-year-old gateman try to be an obstacle on their way by locking the gate. In the process, "baba gateman"  shot by the gunmen. It was noted that Mr. Felix Akpan was in a meeting with some other officials of the school discussing on how to get loan from the bank and updating information on hydro-power project.

Just like a thrown Javelin, the gunmen entered into the place and went straight for Akpan and wanted to shoot him on the head but luckily, the bullet hit his hands, while attempt by the 70-year-old gate-man to close the gate when he heard the gunshot attracted the wrath of one of the assailants, who immediately shot him dead.

Since the appointment of Mr. Felix Akpan as the HOD of Public Administration on the 1st of October 2012, some people were against him.

Investigation is said to be going on.
