2012 FOUYE, FUOYE FUOYE AND FUOYE

This is not an information or something. But we want you to say something about FUOYE. Fuoye as we noted that the school has started their clearance process. What do you think about that?

Robbers Storm Babscock University With Rocket Launchers

At least seven armed robbers Wednesday afternoon stormed some banks within the premises of Babcock University, Ilishan Remo in Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State, southwest Nigeria, and carted away an undisclosed amount of money.

The robbers, P.M.NEWS learnt, went to both Oceanic (now Ecobank) and WEMA bank situated within the campus and shot sporadically to scare people away.
The shooting caused panic among students and other people within the campus.
Our correspondent gathered from an eyewitness that the robbers came with dynamite, rocket launchers and sub-machine guns.

They formed groups and broke into the banking halls to carry out their operation simultaneously.
A staff of one of the affected banks, Oceanic, confirmed the incident to our correspondent on phone, expressing shock at the attack.
“It is an unbelievable experience, I don’t know how the boys came in. They carried big rocket launchers and dynamite. Before anyone knew what was happening, they swooped on us and asked all of us to lie down. One of them even slapped me because I wanted to look at his face. I cannot say the actual amount they carted away, but a rough estimate will be millions of naira,” the staff stated.
When our correspondent contacted one of the staff of the institution, Mr Dotun Oduroye, who heads the Technical Department, he confirmed the attack and stated that no student was hit by stray bullet, contrary to rumours that some students were hit.

According to Oduroye, “the robbers came in about an hour ago and they were with sophisticated weapons like dynamites and rockets. They were shooting in the air and two banks, Oceanic and WEMA banks were attacked. None of the students was hit by the bullet, it was only the shock that gripped many of them. But we thank God that it was just a shock.”
Our correspondent gathered that the robbers escaped through the express road and headed toward Ijebu Ode -Odogbolu route, still shooting as they fled.
Meanwhile, all banks in Ijebu Ode, Ijebu Igbo, Ago Iwoye and some neighboring towns including Sagamu have remained shut since Monday in the aftermath of the attack by armed robbers last week on two banks in Ijebu Imushin and Ijebu Igbo.
During last week’s operation, the robbers raided Sapida Microfinance bank in Ijebu Imushin and WEMA Bank, the only bank that has been operating in Ijebu Igbo in the last one year, and carted away an undisclosed amount of money.

During the Ijebu Imushin raid, two persons were hit by bullets and they were rushed to the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode. One of them later died during the weekend while the other one was reported to have been discharged yesterday.
A police source from Sagamu Divisional Headquarters confirmed the attack to our correspondent and said they are on the trail of the robbers.
As at the time of filing this report, many of the students were seen making frantic efforts to get across to their parents on phone.
They declined to speak with our correspondent.

Boko Haram Updates: Boko Haram Burns 4 Schools

BOKO HARAM...THE NIGERIAN ISLAMIC SECT

Members of the Boko Haram on Monday set fire to Maiduguri Experimental School, a private school in Ruwan Zafi area of the metropolis.

The incident brings to four the number of schools set ablaze by the terror group within a week.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the group had earlier burnt down public primary schools in Budum, Abba Ganaram and Kulo Gomna, all in the Borno capital.
The group, who’s driving principle was to stop western education, has already denied hundreds of school children access to their classes for lessons.
Residents told newsmen in Maiduguri, that the Experimental School was set ablaze in the early hours of the day by unidentified persons.

“We heard an explosion around 3am around the school but everybody was afraid. Later in the morning we noticed heavy smoke coming out of the school.
“By the time we checked about two classes were on fire, so we mobilised and stopped the fire from spreading,” a resident said.
He expressed shock at the development since the school was owned by a private citizen and not the government.
“We were surprised at the fire because this is the first time a private school has been attacked since the terror attack began a few days back,” he said.

Mr Samuel Tizhe, the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), confirmed the incident, saying the police had opened investigation to uncover the perpetrators, but added that no arrest had been made.
“It is true that two more schools have been destroyed by fire. Just like the previous ones, we are making efforts to track the perpetrators.”
Meanwhile, pandemonium broke out on Monday at the Seme Border, in Badagry, Lagos State, after an item suspected to be a bomb was discovered in a motor park near the checkpoint of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

Briefing the press in Lagos, the Lagos State Police Command spokesman, SP Jaiyeoba Joseph, said that following an alarm raised on the discovery at about 4 a.m., a police officer immediately alerted officials of the Police Bomb Disposal Unit at the border.
Joseph said that a preliminary examination of the bag revealed that it contained a wall clock, two batteries and wires, as well as a well-wrapped iron suspected to be a fuel pump.

He said that officials of the Police Bomb Disposal Unit explained that the contents of the bag could not explode like a bomb, and should ordinarily not cause any alarm.
The spokesman said that officials of the Police Anti-Bomb Disposal Unit planned to meet soon with all the security agencies operating at the border on the issue.
Joseph advised Lagos residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious items in their neighbourhoods to the police.
