Though this have nothing to do with education but we think it can be somthing of lesson to others. A high court in Malaysia has sentenced a Nigerian man, Sylvester Okole to death by hanging for drug trafficking.
The Nigerian, was found guilty of drug trafficking two years ago but the sentence was read on Tuesday, 27 March, 2012.
NigeriaNewsdesk reports that Judicial commissioner, Mohammed AdbulWahab, announced the sentence to the 33-year-old Nigerian who was charged with trafficking 11.58kg of Marijuana and was arrested by local police officers at Platform 8, Shahab Perdana bus terminal in Malaysia at 9pm on October 7, 2010.
According to reports, when the sentence was related to the convicted Nigerian by a court interpreter, he did not look worried.
Sylvester Okole, who wore a white T-shirt and a black pair of trousers to the court proceedings was represented by B. Murthy, while the Deputy Public Prosecutor, Naziah Mokhtar caried out the prosecution.
Only last month, 27 February, the Malaysian government sentenced a 34-year old Nigerian Eric Chimezie Oluigbo to death by hanging for trafficking in drugs two years ago.
Hundreds of Nigerian youths are dying every year through drug related offences and many disgraceful means in desperation to escape to other countries of the world for more dignified life.
