This is a news update about Jamb examination. The Federal Government will soon introduce the electronic examination
system into the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME),
Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufa’I, disclosed on Thursday.
Rufa’i, while addressing the 58th Ministerial Session of the National Council on Education (NCE) at the International Conference Center in Abuja, entreated states to acquire the necessary ICT infrastructure and conduct capacity building programmes for teachers to guarantee computer literacy of students.
She further disclosed that the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB), the body responsible for the conduct of UTME, has increased the number of examination centers.
“The Board has also increased its examination towns from 328 to 379 and examination centers from 2,872 to 3,052, to bring the examination closer to the candidates.”
BUT THE QUESTION IS THAT....WILL IT BE ABLE TO CURB MAL-PRACTICES, RELIABLE AND EFFECTIVE ENOUGH? What do you think?
