From the reports that we got from JAMB, we noted that the new electronic Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination will commences at special centres for the first three years. Within the first three years, normal paper exam will still be available.
Ruqayyatu Rufa'i who is the current Education minister flagged off the JAMB's computer-based testing in Abuja. At present, the board said that there are test centres on ground for the commencement of the 2013/2014 JAMB UTME exam across the all 36 states, the FCT and six other centres abroad in countries such as Britain, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Republic of Benin, Cameroon and Ghana.
As we all know that the power outage in Nigeria is still on improvement, the board said that there will be back-up power in order to avoid disruptions during testing. One thing that about this new idea is that candidates will only fix an appointment to sit for the exam at the time of registration and will automatically have their JAMB scores sent to their mobile phones immediately they leave their Exam Centres.
