2013/2014 UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS
(ACU IS FULLY RESIDENTIAL)

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for admission to undergraduate degree programmes of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Oyo State in the 2013/2014 Session

AGENERAL REQUIREMENTS
(i) 100 Level:
All candidates applying for admission into any 100 level undergraduate programme of ACU must possess a minimum of five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes at not more than two sittings at SSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB or its equivalent.

(ii) 200 Level/Direct Entry:
Direct Entry requirements are as in the JAMB Brochure.

Applicants are advised to:
        i.            Obtain 2013 JAMB admission forms for 100 Level and Direct Entry;
      ii.            Make Ajayi Crowther University their first choice
    iii.            Sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME);

Candidates who are awaiting their ‘O’ Level and A’Level results can also apply.

B. DEGREE PROGRAMMES
Admission will be into the following Bachelor Degree Programmes:

(1) FACULTY OF HUMANITIES
        i.            B.A. English
Specific Requirements
a) 100 Level:
The required credit passes must include English Language, Literature in English, another Arts subject and any other two subjects.
b) Direct Entry:
Two ‘A’ Level passes (or equivalents) in Literature in English, one other Arts subject plus three ‘O’ level credit passes.

      ii.            B.A. Christian Studies
Specific Requirements
a) 100 Level:
The candidate must possess Ordinary Level Credit (GCE, NECO or its equivalent) in at least five subjects including the English Language and Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK).
b) Direct Entry:
Five Ordinary Level Credits including the English Language. In addition, the candidate must have at least two Advanced Level papers one of which must be Christian Religious Knowledge or at least two (2) Advanced Level IJMB papers, one of which must be Christian Religious Knowledge.

OR
Diploma in Religious Studies OR Diploma in Theology from a recognized University or
Diploma in Theology awarded by Theological Institutions affiliated to University provided the candidate has five GCE, NECO or its equivalent papers including the English Language.
OR
Nigeria Certificate in Education with Christian Religious Studies as a teaching subject provided the candidate has in addition five GCE, NECO or its equivalent papers including English Language.

    iii.            B.A. History and International Studies
Specific Requirements
a) 100 Level:
The required credit passes must include English Language, History or Government, and any other three subjects.
b) Direct Entry:
Two ‘A’ Level passes (or equivalents) in History or Government plus three other ‘O’ Level passes.

(2) FACULTY OF SOCIAL AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES
        i.            B.Sc. Accounting
      ii.            B.Sc. Banking & Finance
    iii.            B.Sc. Business Administration
    iv.            B.Sc. Economics
      v.            B.Sc. Mass Communication

Specific Requirements
a) 100 Level of (i-v) above
The required credit passes must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and one other social Science subject.
b) Direct Entry of (i-v) below
i.          B.Sc. Accounting                    ii.         B.Sc. Banking & Finance
Two ‘A’ Level passes (or equivalents) in Accounting and one of Mathematics Economics, Statistics, Geography and Government plus ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Economics.

iii.        B.Sc. Business Administration
Two ‘A’ Level passes (or equivalents) in Economics and one of Business Management, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Geography and Government plus ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language and Mathematics.

iv.        B.Sc. Economics
Two ‘A’ Level passes (or equivalents) in Economics and one of Accounting, Business Management, Mathematics, Geography and Government.

v.         B.Sc. Mass Communication
Two ‘A’ Level passes (or equivalents) in Literature in English and one other Arts or Social Science subject plus three ‘O’ Level Credit passes.


(3) FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCES
        i.            B.Sc. Microbiology
Specific Requirements
a) 100 Level:
The required five (5) credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and one other Science subject at not more than two sittings.
b) Direct Entry:
‘A’ level passes in Biology/Botany/Zoology and Chemistry or Physics while ND candidates with at least Upper Credit in relevant areas in addition to the requirements in (a) above may also be admitted.

      ii.            B.Sc. Computer Science
a) 100 Level:
The required five (5) credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics and any other three of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics and any other subject at not more than two sittings.
b) Direct Entry
Two ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Studies. OR ND Certificate in Computer Studies (Upper Credit) OR two ICT Certificate passes. OR NCE with Distinction/Credit in any two of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Computer Studies in addition to requirements in (a).

    iii.            B.Sc. Computer Science (Information & Communication Technology Option)
(Same as in B.Sc. Computer Science)

    iv.            B.Sc. Physics with Electronics
a) 100 Level:
The required five (5) credit passes at ‘O’ level must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and one other Science subject from Biology, Electronics and Geography.
b) Direct Entry
Two ‘A’ level passes or equivalents in Mathematics and Physics or ND Certificate (Upper Credit) in Science Laboratory Technology (Physics/Electronic options). OR NCE with Distinction/Credit in two of Physics, Mathematics, Electronics or Chemistry in addition to the requirements in (a).

      v.            B.Sc. Geology and Mineral Sciences
Specific Requirements
a) 100 Level:
The required five (5) credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Geography at not more than two sittings.
b) Direct Entry
Two ‘A’ level passes or equivalents in Chemistry, Physics and Biology are required in addition to (a) above OR ND (Geology/Geomining) Upper Credit.

    vi.            B.Sc. Industrial Chemistry
Specific Requirements
a) 100Level:
The required five (5) credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry Physics, and Biology at not more than two sittings.

b) Direct Entry
Two ‘A’ Level passes (or equivalents) in Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics plus the requirements in (a) above.

  vii.            B.Sc. Biochemistry
Specific Requirements
a) 100 Level:
The required five (5) credit passes must include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology at not more than two sittings.
b) Direct Entry
Two ‘A level passes (or equivalents) in Chemistry and Biology including the requirements in (a) above.
