As the first phase of the Sokoto State University project nears completion and its scheduled 2013 kick-off date, the state governor, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has said that there is no going back on his administration's bid to enhance the educational development of the State.
Special adviser to the governor on higher education, Prof. Ghadjhaam V. Ardo, stated this when he hosted newsmen over the weekend, adding that when completed, the university will not only be a leading force in university education in the country that will serve all Nigerians, but one of global repute.
Ardo also revealed that a consultant of the Kansas State University, USA, Dr. Miral Gordon, was responsible for the university's framework, and added that academic exercise will first commence in the faculties education, arts and social science, upon completion.

"Governor Wamakko as an educationist will never abandon this project"

Let us hope that this particular project kicks off.
