NUC Asked Universities To Suspend Part-Time Programmes

This is to inform all our ardent readers that the National Universities Commission - NUC has announced that all degree-awarding institutions must suspend the running of part-time programmes.

Mr. Julius Okojie who is the N.U.C Executive Secretary Professor this was put in place to more efficient programmes for students.

According to him, he said that what the universities has produced is nothing but bad products. He calls for the   co-operation of universities in order to develop a more concrete and and confidence-filled system.

One must for alll varsities to comply with is that universities that have these part time programmes must be nothing greater than 20 %.

Along side with with excess capacity to teach, adding that "all part-time programmes must be located on-campus. No more satellite campuses .

Nowadays, students involved in these schemes are young secondary school leavers who feel left out by the bottleneck that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations has become.

The negative effects may continue. Or what do you think reader?
