Creation Of A New University At Igboho Is Coming Soon

Kindly permit me a space in your widely read newspaper to air my views on the above subject.
Igboho is a nodal town, which is also the administrative headquarters of Oorelope Local Government Area, since May, 1989. It is surrounded by Saki-East Irepo, Olorunsogo and Baruten local governments. It should be noted that Baruten Local Government is in Kwara State.
Igboho is also the zonal education headquarters of old Irepo. It is aiso the food basket of Oyo State and indeed, Nigeria. The town, also, is blessed with good road network to Ibadan, Ilorin, Ogbomoso, Kisi, Igbeti, Ogbooro and Saki. The town has over 60 primary schools and  20 secondary schools, both public and private. There are two major markets in the town, which aid the economic growth of people of Igboho - Owode and Mafowoku.  Wema Bank Plc is in the town.
The town has produced great men and women who have occupied sensitive and responsible positions in Oyo State and in Nigeria at large. Among these people are the late Dr Abdujeleel Adebayo Amoloye, one time Oyo State Commissioner for Educa-tion, Professor Dibu Ojerinde (OON), pioneer Registrar of the National Examinations Council (NECO) and presently, Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Ambassador Dele Oladeji, a career diplomat with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alhaja Rakiat Ajao and Alhaja Risikat Alabi, both former Oyo State commissioners for Information, the list of who is who in Igboho is endless.
Besides, the incumbent deputy Governor, Honoura-ble Moses Alake Adeyemo is paternally and maternally from both Oorelope Local  Government and Saki-East Local government (lgboho and Ogbooro). In addition, our immediate past governor,  Chief  Chris-topher Adebayo Alao- Akala has put it on paper and has budgeted for the establishment of LAUTECH Faculty of Management Sciences to take off in Igboho on September, 2011  and also a Faculty of Agriculture to take off in Iseyin.
More significantly, Saki  campus of The Polytechnic  should be made an autonomous polytechnic like its counterparts in Iree and Esa-Oke in Osun State. Ibadan Polytechnic, Eruwa should also be made an autonomous state polytech-nic.
Also, emulate Osun State government under Prince Oyinlola, who established Osun State University, with the main campus in Osogbo, with other cam-puses in Ikire, Ifetedo, Ejigbo, Okuku and Ijebu-jesa. He took loan of N20 billion naira and he liquidated it during the tenure of his government to establish UNIOSUN.
If Governor Abiola Ajimobi could get a university established at Igboho, he would have made a great difference among other governors in Oyo State.
