Chief Thomas revealed that many medical students of UNILAG have already benefited from the HOT bursary award which was initiated two years ago in memory of his late father, a strict disciplinarian who did not condone ineptitude from staff and students during his tenure as first Provost and Pioneer Head of the College of Medicine, Idi-Araba.

He called on all other well meaning Nigerians to emulate HOT Foundation by instituting scholarship awards that would benefit brilliant indigent students.

Similarly, the Chairman, Board of Governor of the College, Chief Obafemi-Olopade encouraged the awardees to view the bursary as an impetus to work harder to justify the kind gesture of HOT Foundation. He admonished wealthy Nigerians to shun the act of lavishing money during parties and cultivate the habit of giving assistance to the needy, especially brilliant indigent students.

Other dignitaries who attended the Presentation Ceremony include the Deputy Provost of the College, Professor (Mrs) A. F. Fagbenro-Beyioku who represented the College Provost, Professor Wole Atoyebi; Chief Olufemi Majekodunmi; Chief J.J.
