It is Visionless To Scrap Post Utme - VC Of Bells University The Vice-chancellor, who stated this yesterday during a press conference to commemorate the 3rd convocation ceremony of the university held in Ota, Ogun State, said that "post-UME is the best way for the modalities and policies to admit the best candidates into tertiary institutions in the country."

He argued that scrapping exercise would jeopardize the future of the Nigerian youth and crunch the efforts of the Federal Government towards achieving the vision 20: 2020 goals.

According to him, the Senate should have consulted the stakeholders in the education sector before pronouncing the decision to scrap post-UME, stressing that it is a pre-requisite to determine the performance of the students.

"The Post-JAMB is to further determine their performance in order to admit the best students. There are some students that have high scores in JAMB and failed the University test.

So, the question is how do they achieve the high scores? Polytechnics, universities and colleges of education should be allowed to put in place modalities in admitting their best students", he said.

Speaking on the achievement of the University in the last six years, Adeyemi said there had been steady improvement in the infrastructural facilities in the campus through the renovation of inherited structures and provision of new ones.
