Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri Resume School Activities

he management of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, headed by Dr. (Mrs.) Celestina Njoku yesterday, in Owerri announced dates for students of the institution to resume normal academic activities after the bloody riot that led to the closure of the school last July. Also in the news was the abolishment of office of deputy rector, administration for reasons yet undisclosed.

The National Diploma (ND) year one students and Higher National Diploma (HND) year one students would return to the campus on Friday, October 14, 2011 and start their examinations on Monday, October 17, 2011 while the National Diploma (ND) year two students and Higher National Diploma (HND) year two students would return on Friday, October 28, 2011 and start their second semester examinations on Monday, October 31, 2011.

The school deputy registrar, information and public relations officer, Nze Obinna Okafor, who disclosed the resumption date to journalists did not mention the penalty the students are expected to pay for the damages done to the school property during the riot.
