29,000 applicants jostle for UI admission UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN UPDATES

THE authorities of the University of Ibadan (UI) have invited 29,000 candidates, out of which only 5,000 will be admitted, for his post-Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) test slated for today.

The candidates, the Nigerian Tribune learnt, chose the premier university as their first choice.

In order to check fraudulent practices, the university said it had designed another questioning pattern, which would subject all the applicants to a written test, as against the previous interactive session.

Sources disclosed that the school authorities had decided to change its former interactive session to written examinations, in order to ensure objectivity and reduce the human factor tendency which could tarnish the image of the institution.

Under the new arrangement, candidates were expected to write their examination using a computer-aided answer sheets.

The questions had also been customised to ensure that they were specifically designed for each candidate.
