MAN STEALS BRT BUS, CHARGED TO COURT

A man, Adekunle Alli-James, 65, was arraigned before the Ogudu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing a BRT bus with Reg. No. XW 370 GGE, valued at N14.5 million.
The accused, facing a two-count charge, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, PC Kemi Adeniran, said that the accused stole the BRT bus from the company’s depot in the Ketu area of Lagos.
She said that the accused conspired with another person, still at large, to commit the alleged offenses, which contravene Sections 419 and 390 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State.
The prosecutor explained that “the accused and his accomplice attempted to steal the bus on Nov. 5.’’
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Yetunde Aje-Afunwa, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was however, adjourned till December 19 for trial (NAN).
