The witness, an indigene of Anambra State who was converted into the Muslim faith in December 2003 further told a Federal High Court that members of the sect were out to revenge the death of their leader, Muhammed Yusuf including those killed in Maiduguari, Yobe and Bauchi states by the Nigerian government.
The suspects are Shuaibu Abubakar, Mohammed Danlhatu, Salisu Ahmed, Umar Babagana, Mohammed Ali, Musa Adams, Umar Ibrahim and Ahmed Hassan Ezimakor.
While denying insinuations that the sect was a violent group, Ezimakor who was born in Niger Republic said “Boko Haram was not conceived to be a violent group but it was to preach peace and the teachings of Prophet Mohammed and the Koran.”
